Hello and welcome! If you are new to the blog, my name is Brenda, lead designer of BD Interior Design; an interior design studio here in Toronto Canada.
This Spring I decided to join the One Room Challenge! If you are not familiar with the One Room Challenge (ORC), it is a biannual event where designers (re)design one room over a six week period and share weekly progress of our journey. And the icing on the cake; BETTER HOMES & GARDENS IS THE OFFICIAL MEDIA PARTNER OF THE ORC!

Week 2 week two Wall covering
Week 3 three The pink Room
Week 4 four Swing Update
Week 5 -Pause to reflect on Social Injustice
Whoaaa It sure has been a heavy week. This week I am sharing updates on progress of my wall mural installation and overall progress. My updates will mainly be picture updates with minor captions as my heart still aches from what's taking place in our world.
Below is a reminder of my design concept. Scroll down to see the wall mural installation.
Behold the wall mural has finally been installed. And who told me I could be a bad ass mural installer. The outcome, it took me half a day to complete the installation. I must say it was well worth it to see a wall mural that I've designed in my girls room.
Here is a glimpse of the swing. Make sure to follow me on Social to see this swing in action. Now I told myself I was going to maintain the carpet but two weeks to wrap up the challenge and I'm convinced that i'm ripping out the carpet for some LVT. As I check off items on my to do list I somehow manage to add more items.
Although the wall panels are complete, there some area that require caulking as well as touch ups
Rug is here and it is perfection.
Pictures can be deceiving, I still have a lot of work to do.
Re-install drapery rods and drapes
Locate new drapes
Remove carper and replace with LVT
Caulk wall panels and painting touch ups
Find Picture frames
Bedding and decorative pillow
Cross my fingers that my neon lights are delivered on time
Adding decorative elements for final styling

Until next week!
