Hello and welcome! If you are new to the blog, my name is Brenda, lead designer of BD Interior Design; an interior design studio here in Toronto Canada.
This Spring I decided to join the One Room Challenge! If you are not familiar with the One Room Challenge (ORC), it is a biannual event where designers (re)design one room over a six week period and share weekly progress of our journey. And the icing on the cake; BETTER HOMES & GARDENS IS THE OFFICIAL MEDIA PARTNER OF THE ORC!
If you're new to my blog, click here for week 1 plan reveal!
Week 2 week two Wall covering
Week 3 three The pink Room
Week 4 four Swing Update
Week 5 -Pause to reflect on Social Injustice
Week 6 - six Natural elements
We are heading into the last week of the ORC and I am happy to say that all major installation is complete and I can finally focus on the finishing touches. The last installation was this beautiful light fixture that was added. I must say it really helps tie the room together. Another task was caulking the wall panels and adding painting touch ups.
So this week I am focused on details. From Decorative wall art, changing out door handles, and creating accent walls.
And drum rollllll: the biggest change this past week was ripping out the carpets and replacing with Luxury Vinyl tIle. This is the same flooring in the lower level of our home. Oh what a difference flooring makes.
The wall below will be transformed this week by adding florals to help create an instagrammable wall. I envision many photo shoots taking place here for the girls while they're swinging around with their friends post Covid.
Stay tuned to the final reveal.
I am still waiting on my neon lights to be delivered on time
